Chives are one of those plants that I love to have near my kitchen so I can just snip a few leaves to flavour scrambled eggs, cottage cheese etc. They are a forgiving plant that don’t mind a haircut and provide wonderful flavour throughout the season. At the end of the season, plant them in the ground in a sheltered place and they will come back for you next year. The little flowers are edible and pretty on a salad or sandwich.
