Vision

We all need a place to come home to.

A place where we feel nurtured, where we feel free to be ourselves.

A place to reconnect with ourselves and to connect with others – to let the hustle & bustle of daily pressures fade away.

A place to rejuvenate.

My vision is to help inspire you to create that space,

To offer you the tools to get there and to support you along the way.

Step into the wild.... and welcome home.

I’ve always had my hands in the earth.

When I was 4, I can remember running out our backdoor and out into the Alberta prairie each Spring to look for the first crocus. I’d search for those fuzzy purple noses poking through the hard ground and it would make my heart sing. I would spend hours in my Mom’s garden and loved the smell of the freshly dug earth. Dropping the hard, green pea seeds into the holes my little fingers made still resonates with me today.

When we moved to Ontario, I was blessed to live on 90 acres of mixed bush and field on which many gardens grew and evolved over the years. I started Planting for Plenty on the farm, long rows planted by volunteer hands which provided food for our local food bank. It felt important to me to share this beautiful resource that nature had shared with me.

Now, with our move to Nova Scotia in May of 2023, I’m learning and discovering yet again!

Over the years, guided by my studies in Herbalism, Permaculture and Forest Gardening, the straight rows and tidy gardens of the 60’s have given way to understanding what makes for a truly great garden. I have realized the importance of, and developed a respect for, the wildness that nature serves up year after year, no matter how hard we try to “tame” our gardens.

From flowing cottage gardens to formal plantings, on patios and balconies, there are always opportunities to welcome and incorporate the beauty of “the wild” into your garden.

Every ounce of love you put into a plot of earth or a plant in a pot, it will be repaid to you in immeasurable ways!

I’m here to help. Let’s step into the wild....
